Richard Henry is a seasoned commercial real estate broker, investor, and property strategist based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. As Broker and Owner of Right Space Commercial, Richard leads a full-service commercial real estate firm specializing in industrial, flex, retail, and office property sales, leasing, development, and investment advisory services across West Alabama and throughout the state of Alabama. Known for his market intelligence and execution-driven approach, he advises business owners, investors, and developers on strategic acquisitions, dispositions, site selection, and value-add repositioning.
 
Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Science from Auburn University and is a graduate of Tuscaloosa City School System, reflecting deep local roots and long-standing ties to the community. He is also a graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa through the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce. He began his commercial real estate career in 2008 after identifying a need for higher service standards in property management and brokerage. Since then, he has built and repositioned commercial portfolios, revitalized underperforming assets, and helped businesses secure space that supports long-term operational growth.
 
Under Richard’s leadership, Right Space Commercial has become a trusted advisor for clients seeking industrial warehouse space, flex and distribution facilities, high-visibility retail centers, and professional office environments. His background in building science provides a strategic advantage when evaluating site development feasibility, construction considerations, and capital improvement planning — enabling clients to make data-driven real estate decisions.
 
Richard is deeply engaged in civic leadership and community development. In 2026, he announced his candidacy for the Tuscaloosa City Council District 3 seat, focusing on responsible growth, infrastructure planning, and neighborhood stability. His involvement in local boards like Scouting America, and other leadership initiatives reflects his commitment to strengthening West Alabama through thoughtful economic and community development.
 
Outside of business and public service, Richard is an avid outdoorsman. He and his wife, Jana, are proud parents to their daughter, Sally, and son, Thomas.
